Tunnel Runner is a level-based arcade runner where you race through tunnels and along pipes at high speed, avoiding every obstacle in your path. It is the follow-up to Rage Quit Racer, made by developer Drmop and released in June 2021. The game is free to play in your browser with no download or account needed. It works at school or work wherever browser games are allowed, and there is an Android app if you want to keep going on your phone.

What is Tunnel Runner?

Tunnel Runner is an obstacle-avoidance runner in the arcade genre. You barrel through tight tunnels and around curved pipes, and the goal is simple: do not hit anything. The difficulty ratchets up steadily across more than 1000 levels, introducing new obstacle patterns and tighter gaps as you go. Shields are scattered through the levels. Pick them up and they absorb one hit, giving you a small cushion when things get fast. Using them at the right moment rather than burning through them early is one of the key skills the game tests.

Controls and movement

The controls are minimal, which makes the game easy to start but tricky to master at speed.

Shields and obstacles

The shield pickup is the only defensive item in the game. It does not make you invincible, it absorbs a single collision and then disappears. In later levels where obstacles come thick and fast, timing a shield pickup before a dense section can be the difference between clearing a level and restarting it.

ShieldAbsorbs one obstacle hit before breaking
ObstaclesFixed and moving hazards that fill the tunnel path
180-degree flipInstantly rotates your position to the opposite side of the tunnel

Level progression

The game has over 1000 levels and does not loop. Each level is a distinct layout, and the challenge increases in steps rather than a smooth curve. Early levels let you find your rhythm. By the mid-hundreds the gaps get narrower, obstacle timing gets tighter, and the 180-degree flip becomes a tool you reach for often rather than occasionally. There is no scoring system beyond clearing each level, so the measure of progress is purely how far into the sequence you get.
